* Hurricane/Tropical Storm Damage *
The Property Appraiser’s office is not responsible for doing any damage assessment reviews from any Hurricanes/Tropical Storms. Reviews will be done through the Damage Assessment Team from the Building Department and they are hoping to have this completed over the next number of weeks.
All calls from Homeowners or Business owners should be directed to the Emergency Management Team on 352-754-4083 to receive the most up to date information OR visit their website at Emergency Management. For those that wish to self-report damage, you can use this link to do so Resident Damage Report.
The Property Appraiser’s offices’ assessment date is January 1st, so any damage that has occurred to property from this storm will not adjust the 2024 assessment value for the 2024 Tax Bill. If, by January 1st, 2025 repairs have not been made to damaged properties, taxpayers can contact our office, and at that time, we can arrange a Field Review for any possible adjustment of the property value for 2025.
After January 1st, 2025, if homeowners had damage to their property and were unable to reside at their home for more than 30 days, they can file a DR-465 Application for Catastrophic Event Tax Refund. Please complete and submit the application, along with supporting documentation of the damage, to either of our offices before March 1st, 2025.
The 2024 Notice of Proposed Property Taxes will be mailed on
Monday, August 19th, 2024.

Our 8th Annual Animal Services Valentine’s Day collection was another huge success thanks to our wonderful staff.
Many of our staff have pets that they have adopted from there and are always extremely generous in giving back to this awesome county department.

Our office has made a few new enhancements to our Property Search.
1. In the GIS Map tab we now have a JPG feature that enables you to export the selected parcel (Ortho imagery with parcel lines).
2. In the Parcel details tab we now have a print button that prints out the complete parcel details information on the compound search. Basically, the same feature as the previous parcel search.
3. Under the Structure tab we now have options to search for sinkholes.
